After successfully passing the training program, the trainee should:

  • have knowledge of the relevant legislation and regulations concerning lifting operations and the safe use of cranes;
  • be aware of crane operation types, lifting equipment, typical operational limitations;
  • know about responsibilities of the crane operator as well as the role of marine crew;
  • be aware of a lift plan checklist; pre-operational checks;
  • be able to carry out a lift;
  • know about requirements for radio communication, crane orders and hand signals;
  • be aware of typical crane maintenance and inspection requirements.

 

Entry Standards for admission to the training course are:

  • Certificate of Competency, Education Certificate, or Certificate of Proficiency (according to the requirement of the specific fields as defined by the international or national regulations);
  • Seamen’s book, Civil passport, or ID.
