Liquid Cargo and Ballast Operations on Oil Tankers (LICOS)

At the completion of the course, students should be able to accumulate following Knowledge:

• Be aware of cargo stowage plan on board, safe loading and unloading of cargo
• Be aware of the prevention of marine pollution;
• Be able to maintain the stability and navigability of the ship;
• Understand the ship’s structure and systems;
• Be aware of monitoring of pump and piping systems;
• Have knowledge of the operation of ballast and cargo systems;
• Be aware of a description of the data displayed;
• Know the construction and equipment of tankers;
• Have knowledge of cargo transportation;
• Be aware of actions in case of an emergency.
• Be aware of the international Maritime Organizations Conventions particularly developed for this specific subject.

In order to enter into the presented training program, trainee must represent:

• Certificate of Competency, Education Certificate or Certificate of Proficiency;
• Seamen’s book or Civil passport or ID;
• Medical Certificate or medical certificate form 100 (for coastal water area seafarers’).
