At the completion of the course, students should be able to accumulate following Knowledge:

 

  • know about the basic principles of the Ballast Water Management Convention;
  • be aware of developing, implementing, and following a Ballast Water Management plan;
  • have knowledge of Ballast Water Management options;
  • will know about sediment control and its handling;
  • will be aware of roles and responsibilities within Ballast Water Management;
  • know about the Ballast Water Treatment Technologies;
  • will be able to use sampling and monitoring onboard;
  • will know about port state obligations, as well as regional and national regulations.

In order to enter into the presented training program, trainee must represent:

 

  • Certificate of Competency, Education Certificate or Certificate of Proficiency;
  • Seamen’s book or Civil passport or ID;
  • Medical Certificate or medical certificate form 100 (for coastal water area seafarers’).
