After successfully passing the training program, the trainee should:
- increase safe maneuvering and navigation of vessels equipped with azimuthing propulsion;
- have knowledge and understanding of the maneuvering behavior and limitations of vessels with Azimuthing Stern Drive (ASD);
- perform practical ASD vessel maneuvering;
- test and improve maneuvering strategies;
- understand the effects of wind, current, shallow water, and ship-to-ship interaction on the ship’s movement.
Entry Standards for admission to the training course are:
- Certificate of Competency, Education Certificate, or Certificate of Proficiency (according to the requirement of the specific fields as defined by the international or national regulations);
- Seamen’s book, Civil passport, or ID.
