The trainees who successfully complete the course should be able to demonstrate their competence, including:
- have knowledge to coordinate and monitor safe bunkering, stowage and secure of the fuel on board ships subject to the IGF Code;
- have knowledge to oversee and ensure adherence to legal requirements;
- have knowledge how to take precautions to prevent hazards;
- be able to apply occupational health and safety precautions and measures on board a ship subject to the IGF Code.
In order to enter into the presented training program, trainee must represent:
- Education Diploma, Certificate of Competency, or Certificate of Proficiency;
- Seamen’s book, Civil passport, ID, or seafarer’s identification card;
- Medical Certificate;
- Have completed training course program: “Basic safety training for personnel working on ships subject to IGF Code” according to STCW code AV/3-1 standard requirements; or
- Must have not less than 1 month of approved seagoing service on a ship operating on gas or low explosive fuel, including at least 3 bunkering operations. 2 of these operations may be replaced by training in a recognized bunkering simulator as provided for in subparagraph “a” of this paragraph.
- Have completed training course program: “Basic training for Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations” according to STCW code A-V/1-2-standard
requirements; or - Have completed training course program: “Advanced training for Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations” according to STCW code A-V/1-2-2 standard requirements.
