At the completion of the course, students should be able to accumulate following Knowledge:
- use English in written and oral form in maritime communication
- describe routine operations, watchkeeping duties; understand standard helm & engine orders
- identify VHF communications regarding task completions in routine operations, safety procedures and bunkering operations
- report about incidents at sea and onboard using VHF communication dealing with distress and urgency messages
- describe cargo loading/discharging operations
- name types of onboard documentation
- fill in some documents dealing with ship’s correspondence and survey reports
- discuss cases of collision and analyzing causes of collision and measures to be taken to avoid them
In order to enter into the presented training program, trainee must represent:
- Certificate of Competency, Education Certificate or Certificate of Proficiency;
- Seamen’s book or Civil passport or ID;
- Medical Certificate or medical certificate form 100 (for coastal water area seafarers’).
