After completing this course, the trainee will be able to:

  • Concepts of automatic control;
  • Working and maintenance of Temperature, Pressure, Flow, Level and other Measuring equipment;
  • Operation and maintenance of various types of Transmitters, Controllers, Actuators, Valve Positioners and control valves with their characteristics;
  • Boilers controllers-Boiler water level controller and Air/Fuel combustion controller;
  • Operation and maintenance of the Automatic Controller along with calibration;
  • The operation and maintenance aspects of the Programmable Logic Controller.

In order to enter into the presented training program, trainee must represent: 

  • Certificate of Competency, Education Certificate or Certificate of Proficiency;
  • Seamen’s book or Civil passport or ID;
  • Medical Certificate or medical certificate form 100 (for coastal water area seafarers’);
  • Entry to the course is open to trainees with basic background and knowledge and to marine engineers who wish to improve their knowledge and understanding of the operation of the machinery of a modern merchant ship.
